The NoVA Sharpshooters won their third National Air Pistol League title last week, making this three titles in a row. This team is from Centreville, VA and coached by Ben Regala.
This season marks their first title in the Air Pistol League where they were not undefeated. NoVA was defeated in their final match in Week 10 against second place team Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club by 18 points, both teams finishing the League with a 7 -1 record. NoVA Sharpshooter's overall record in eight seasons of participation in the Air Pistol League is 44 wins and 17 losses.
Finishing in second place was Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club from Greenwich, CT with a 7 - 1 record. This team impressively defeated first place NoVA Sharpshooters in Week 10, but was not able to overcome the lead spot due to NoVA's exceptional average score of 2189 this season.
Taking third place was Lafayette Gun Club from Grafton, VA with a 5 - 3 record. Last season, Lafayette finished second place with a 6 - 2 record.
The Air Pistol League is open to all age group athletes, open and junior (U21). However, to help promote up and coming athletes the top four juniors are named to the Junior All Star Team. This year's All-Stars are all from NoVA Sharpshooters:
