Orion at Home is Now Free

Orion at Home is Now Free

Last week Scopos announced Score History, a powerful new feature that lets athletes link all of their practice scores and all of their competition scores in one convenient place, their desktop browser or mobile device. This week, to make sure every athlete has an opportunity to track their practice scores using Score History, we’re announcing the licensing for Orion at Home is now free.

Every athlete now has the opportunity to score targets electronically and track their scores online, regardless of whether they are shooting air rifle, air pistol, BB Gun, or more. The same powerful software used to run more shooting competitions in the United States than any other is now free for the individual athlete and home user.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get my copy of Orion at Home?

Athletes may “purchase” (for free) an Orion at Home license on our website at https://www.scopos.tech/orion-home-bundle.html. There are options to purchase a supported scanner and Orion paper targets.

How does Orion at Home score targets?

Orion at Home is the same trusted software used by more than 1500 clubs in the United States, just limited for individual use. Orion scores paper targets by first digitizing them using commodity scanners. The resulting digital image is then scored using computer vision. Scores are then available both within the Orion software and online in a few seconds.

What limitations does Orion at Home have over Orion for Clubs?

Orion at Home is intended for the individual athlete; as such there are limitations. For a complete list of differences visit our website. In general, Orion at Home is limited to four athletes in a match, does not support teams, and can only join Virtual Matches but may not create them.

Which paper targets are supported?

All Orion paper targets and scorecards are supported with Orion at Home, including air rifle, air pistol, and BB Gun targets.

How do I link my practice scores to my Score History?

Athletes should create a free Scopos account at rezults.scopos.tech. Then, when using Orion at Home, enter your email address associated with your Scopos account in the Match Competitors tab.

Which scanners are compatible with Orion at Home?

Scopos supports a range of Canon scanners with automatic document feeders, such as the P-208 (4 target scans a minute) and DR-C230 (25 target scans a minute). Other scanners may also work but are not officially supported.

What support options are available with Orion at Home?

Orion at Home users may access our support site at support.scopos.tech or contact our support team by email at support@scopos.tech. Due to the added cost of telephone support, this option is not available to Orion at Home users. Orion at Home users may also purchase a one-on-one setup and instructional call with a Scopos support team member for a $50 fee.

Why is Scopos making Orion at Home free now?

Scopos believes in the importance of building the shooting community and modernizing the shooting sports. By making the electronic scoring of paper targets and linking of athlete scores free for individual athletes, we are taking one big step forward to achieving this goal.
